Hi ladies!
So we are finally moving forward with everything, My doctor found me a gyn surgeon who reviewed my file and history blah blah blah...my tube DOES need to come out, and ASAP.
He wasn't messing around when he meant asap, I had the appointment monday afternoon, when we left his office DH and I went to get some food...we were about to order and my phone rings and it's the nurse doing the prescheduling stuff...um ok, she told me he was booking well into June and I was bummed but like whatever, then she tells me he made me priority, and it would most likely be in next 2-3 weeks, OK I can handle that. Yesterday am she called me back, after meeting with him, he wanted it faster, so my tube is coming out Tuesday morning...OMG
I am happy/sad/relieved/nervous
I feel like I have to turbo clean everything, go buy new jammies( I HAVE to have new jammies before any procedure, I am supersticious) get groceries, go get my pre op labs..etc.....oh and we are like broke so I have to do this creatively lol!
Anyways, hopefully this will stop my pain and prevent further miscarriages since it is twisted and pulling and leaking toxic(the dr thinks) goo. His other theory is that it's filled with endo and swells up periodically. Fun
I am sad it has to come out, i feel defeated, but its broken, and wont ever work again...also it is preventing us from reaching our ultimate goal!
So, who has had a tube out? Same or Worse than a bad lap? What should I expect? Tips?
He's also going to peek around, clean up any rogue endo that may have regrown and check for polyops and fibroids....He also was super funny, and goes " i see you have anxiety, and I can tell, don't stress, I am going to take good care of you, lots of drugs before during and after LOL
He also made it a point to chat with dh a bit, we both really liked him
Nothing obvious on fb, I just don't want to deal with all the nosy nellies at this point, vague messages or privates ones are always welcome!
Wow, this got loooonnnggg. Sorry and thanks for reading!

I have had both of my tubes taken out and it was the best thing I ever did. Both my tubes were destroyed during a screwed up surgery and they were both blocked and had hydrosalpinx (the toxic fluid you are talking about). My sticky BFP was my first FET after having them taken out.
It took me a year and two failed IVFs to finally decide and be mentally ready to have them taken out, so I totally understand where you are coming from. I was also scared about the surgery part of it since my insides are sort of a huge mess from the massive abdominal infection I got as a result of the botched surgery. So I actually had my surgery done by an ob/gyn oncologist surgeon. So it was very important to me that I felt like they knew what they were doing and were taking very good care of me.
My surgery went very well and I was able to walk the next day. They had to open me up because I didn't want to do the lap due to risk. My recovery was super easy and was back at work within 10 days, although I could have gone back earlier if I had to.
Feel free to message me here or on FB if you have any other questions about this. Good luck and I really hope this brings you your sticky BFP.
Oh and I had some endo and a large cyst taken out during the surgery too.

I had both tubes removed and large cysts, everything was infected and had pyosalpinx' - it was a painful mess in there and caused peritonitis. Going in, we thought there was a good chance I would lose at least one ovary as well, it was actually a surprise to me to have no tubes but 2 ovaries after all that. It was done as a lap, I would say my recovery kind of sucked. But, I was really *sick* prior to the surgery so was compromised to start, very anemic, etc. - and the stupid gas from the lap caused me more pain than anything with the tubes!
I think you will do well and be glad in the end that it was done!!! good luck to you ~ wishing you a speedy recovery and BFP sticky baby
I am so glad this is finally happening!!!
Praying for a smooth surgery and recovery.

I'll be thinking of you. I am so glad you are finally able to get this done and I hope this is an end to all of your pain.
If you're at a hosp by me and want a furry visitor- let me know...
I was lurking, ticker warning....I have only one tube. In Nov. '08, I was set to have a lap to remove a big stubborn (and painful) cyst (I have PCOS) and when they went in for the lap they saw I also had bad endometriosis. They had to open me up to remove my left ovary and tube because it was so badly damaged. Endo had caused the ovary to sort of twist around and was basically dying. The surgery was no fun to recover from, but I think it was bad because I had both a lap and open surgery, so I had the bad pains from gas escaping as well as abdominal discomfort from being cut open. Plus I had no idea I'd be cut open so it was an unexpected thing to recover from. I didn't have enough sick time to take off more than the couple of days I thought I'd need, and went back to work to soon where I overdid it.
Prior to the surgery, I had trouble getting pregnant and staying pregnant - I had a few miscarriages over the years before having the surgery, whose main purpose was just to relieve pain. Emotionally it was difficult for me at first, because I felt like my chances of having kids were even lower since I only have one ovary...and then I got pg on my very next cycle without even trying! I had a c/s with #1, and when they were inside my uterus, they burned out a whole bunch more endo.
My cycle was starting to get screwy again when DD1 was just a few months old, so we decided to TTC #2 sooner rather than later to hopefully avoid having trouble TTC. We actually got pg with #2 during the last month that we were TTA, but apparently I ovulated 10-12 days late, and we got pg a month sooner than we hoped to. (Which was fine by us.) So we TTC #3 sooner after I got my PP period and got pg on the first try.
Having that surgery turned out to be the biggest blessing ever, but the pain reappeared around Feb. '10 where my ovary used to be. It feels the same as it did prior to the ovary and tube removal, which is puzzling, but the dr insists there was nothing there when they checked during my c/s in Nov. '10.
I wish you the very best with your surgery, both with your recovery and its long-term effect.
Forever our's October 17th 2012
