Yesterday was the switch, while 2 injections a day self filled isn't the funnest thing I've ever done, my pharmacist gave me some great tips. I figured I'd share in case your instructions were as great as mine were initially. When I first started this pregnancy I was on Heparin until around 9 weeks, I begged my doctor to let me switch to Lovenox because of the pain in the butt Heparin was, and I did. It was difficult to get the right amount without bubbles, etc.
Now that I'm back the pharmacist told me what to do: first make sure to push any air out of the syringe, then if you are filling one ml fill the syringe with one ml of air, then push the syringe into the vial fill the vial with the 1 ml of air & that will make it easier to fill the syringe with one ml of liquid.
I'm sure everyone else knew this already, but I did not! So just in case...
