Went to court today......

And BD NEVER SHOWED UP!!!! Im pissed because I feel like I wasted my time going there only to find out that if and only if they can find out where he works they will send his employer a wage garnishment. That could take 2 days or 2 months. its so aggrivating!!

The only good thing is because he didn't show up and if they do find out where he is working he will have to pay a "default" amount that the court orders and he wont be able to do much aboout it.

But he lives in another state so um sure they will take their sweet old time "attempting" to find him!

    this is exactly what happened to me.  he never showed up and still has not made a single payment.  I also cant get wage garnishment because he "doesn't work"   the only good thing is it is a court order so eventually this will all catch up to him

    Having a BD not show up is awesome. You get everything you want, and he has no say. Wage garnishment is the ONLY way to go, IMO. Personally, I'd call this one a victory.

    Can they not garnish his unemployment or disability if he gets it?

    Unfortunatly for me he does not get either of those.  He has not had a regular job for over a year and it is only by his choice and lazyness.  He has "other ways" of making money.  he randomly works for a friend and also sells used goods online ( he probably sells other things as well that i couldnt type here!).

     The only good thing here is even though he isnt paying now the court system is documenting every missed payment and they are adding up. If he ever decided to live a normal life his first pay check will have wage garnishment

    back support does not go away, it just accrues, they will suspend his lisence issue a bench warrant for his arrest and it will eventually be reported to the credit bureau...trust me i have been thru this one...i waited for 2 years to get CS for my son...they caught him eventually...and those judges have no mercy.
