Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Milk Intake - 37 weeks

So I just read this on the Bump's 37 weeks tips ...

[ tip ] If you're bottle feeding, limit baby's daily intake to 16 to 24 ounces of formula or breastmilk. If she still wants more to drink, offer water.

Doesn't 16-24 oz of BM sound a little low?  We offer water with her solids, but feed her BM 5 times a day - 3 times via bottle 5 oz and twice from me.  My guess is she is getting on the high side of this range.

Re: Milk Intake - 37 weeks

  • At our 6 month apt our Pedi told us for DD 32-26oz a day was good. She gets that in a 5 oz bottle at 6 am, 3, 8 oz bottles at 8, 12, and 4, and another 5-6 oz at 6:45.

She gets fruit and cereal at 10 and her sippy cup with water and at 2pm if she is acting like she is hungry she gets a bottle of water. We do finger foods for dinner at home.

  • I would refer to kellymom..that info is wrong and ridiculous.
