AW: Finally signed

So proud of Ash. We have been trying to teach him the sign for "all done" for about 5 months now. And he finally did it! MH told me he did it yesterday, and today he did it for me. Now maybe we will know if he is screaming just to scream, or if he is done eating!

He has been so advanced when it comes to mobility, but has shown no interest in communication, so we were starting to worry. But there was no doubt about it today.

I got excited and kept trying to get him to do it over and over and he was getting frustrated because I wasn't taking him out of the chair after he would do it.

I also think he said "done" but that could just be my excitement talking!

That is great!  I was just looking at the signs--I have done a few but not that one.  Are you using the one for "finished" or "all done"?

  • So exciting!

E is doing "more" and "all done" and it makes feeding her so much easier!  I'm really loving this.

    jcsumm0 - we're using "all done".

We do this one for all done.  DD just started signing it this weekend also.  She started signing it and verbally saying it at the same time.  I was hoping the signing would help her be able to communicate sooner but looks like it was the same time.  It is such a relief to not have the screeching after dinner anymore.  Well not as much screeching :)

We use this one too. He only used one hand when he did it.
