What to expect?

Hi there! I posted my intro a month or so ago. Hope you don't mind me posting a question.

 

I have my first appt with my OB next week. We are currently on cycle 15 and this will be our first attempt at finding out what is going on.

 

I will be on CD15 at the appt. I consistently O at either CD17 or CD19. Will any testing be able to get done at this appt? Any ideas of what to expect at an initial visit?

    It should go okay- they'll most likely do an u/s to check for follicle size and your lining. Beyond that, they might do some blood work. I can't think of anything they can do in the middle of your cycle. Beginning of your next they might do more tests.

    I think it depends on how versed your OB is in IF.  They may do u/s, they may not.  Most likely they will order some basic blood tests at the very least.  Some OBs are very knowledgable of IF issues and others aren't.  I went to 2 different OBs about my shortened LP and neither of them thought it was an issue (even though everything online suggests it is).

    You may want to consider seeing a RE depending on the outcome of your OB appointment.  Every OB is different though.

    There is one test that can be done on day 21, pretty sure it is to check if you ovulated.  Other than that not sure what else they may want to do.  My 1st appt. is this Friday, and I should be at the beginning of my cycle, so hoping that helps get things moving right away. 

    I would ask for a sperm analysis if they don't suggest it.  Just to make sure and rule that factor out if you can.

    DD conceived after 3 years of ttc.
    MFI - DH had varicocele repair and took Clomid to get DD b. 02/2010

    TTC #2 since 6/2010
    10/2012 DH diagnosed with Epilepsy
    A few failed IUIs summer 2012 and 2013. 
    DH taking clomid and waiting to see if he needs another vericocele repair. 
    Hoping for a 2015 baby or babies. 
    Wishing, hoping, waiting.

    Thank you so much for the replies. I had a feeling a mid-cycle appt would be tricky.

     

    In regards to the RE, we will likely not see one and our journey for #2 will end with our OB. Any fertility test/treatment will be OOP. Our daughter has chronic health issues and we can't afford to invest any money into treatment. But I appreciate the suggestion.
