What do you feed LO on the go?

We are going out for the day on Friday To the zoo and shopping.  I can grab a burger or hot dog or something of the sort, but I am trying to think of what I can bring for M to eat that won't require staying cold or being heated up.  Do you have any suggestions?

If we go out to eat I let V share my food (within reason).  If I am eating something he can't have or doesn't like I usually carry a few of those babyfood pouches in the diaper bag.  He generally doesn't like purees, but he loves to suck those things down.  I also have puffs and crackers and sometimes a string cheese if it isn't going to be too hot.

I take a fruit cup and veggie cup (Wal-Mart has them with the canned veggies) with and then subsitute with parts of my meal.  I also keep snacks like puffs, dried fruit, melts, etc on hand as filler.

Ooh...I have a few of those pouches.  That's a good idea.

  • I always make sure that whatever I get for myself I can give him a little of as well.  Plus, I have snacks in the diaper bag 24/7!
  • I've been making batches of whole wheat/ fruit pancakes and freezing them for Maya.  When I'm heading out I'll grab one and throw it in my purse.  It's usually defrosted by the time I give it to her- though she'll eat them frozen too.  I also have puffs or cheerios as snacks.  If we're going out to eat I make sure to order a veggie that she can share with me.

  • At the zoo, I haul around the little puree pouches. He loves them. If we are going to a restaurant or someone's house to eat, I just feed him what I'm having.

  • Plum baby pouches. I also carry puffs, yogurt melts, and crunchies for snacks.

I generally always carry fruit slices, puffs, yogurt melts and a food pouch with me.  If whatever I eat isn't something I can share she'll get one or a combo of those.

  • i usually just share my food or nurse.  if i remember to bring a snack, it's usually cheerios or freeze-dried fruit.
