I don't post much, but get a lot of helpful information from many of the ladies on here and thought I'd get your feedback on this.
I'm expecting my second child, my first just turned 2 and we've saved just about everything we could because we knew we'd be having a second. As nice as a second shower would be, I just wouldn't feel right about it and don't feel like we really need it. However two of my very close friends recently had baby showers (one for her 3rd child and the other for her 2nd) and I'm a little unsure on what to say to them regarding this topic when they ask if I'm going to have a shower. I don't want to put them down for having a shower, but I'm afraid if I tell them what I really think it may make them feel bad regardless. Maybe I'm just being oversensitive, but is there a nice way to tell them I don't really want/need a second shower without offending them?
Re: Declining a 2nd Shower
I think simply stating - no I'm not having a shower should be enough.
If they ask you if they can throw you a shower, tell them you really appreciate the offer but you don't really have a need (or time) for a shower. If they are persistent maybe suggest going out for mani/pedi or dinner or post baby drinks to celebrate.
Perfect!
Thanks! I had to laugh a little when I read this only because I go back and forth in feeling this way.
Knowing me I'd probably just say I'm not having one because I find it tacky. Haha...
