  • I like all three choices, with Lauren slightly the most. Have you considered Lorelai?

  • I think Lauren is nauseatingly common. I love Julianna Estelle together. Stella is nms but I don't hate it.
  • I love Stella

  • Lauren is very dated to me. I know about 20 of them. Stella just makes me think of A Streetcar Name Desire. Good show, but I just don't like the name in general - very gutteral and harsh.

Estelle, however, is lovely. That's my vote.

Lauren feels very dated to me.

I have a Stella, myself, so I'm obviously biased on that name, though I do enjoy Estelle, too.

And regardless of the letters that Stella and Estelle both share, I get different feels from both of them.

  • I knew about 5 Lauren's (and about 5 Laura's for that matter) growing up so its a bit common for me.

    I'd pick Stella.

  • Lauren is nice, but a little bit dated. I don't like the other two names.

  • Love Stella, Lauren is ok, not so fond of Estelle.

  • Lauren is my fave of the three, although it's a bit blah. Estelle sounds too "old lady-ish" to me and I'm bored of Stella, as it's uber popular where I live. I love Juliana, though!

  • I like Laura but have never been in love with Lauren (amazing what a difference a couple letters makes).

I like Stella but Estelle hasn't totally grown on me (again, amazing what a few letters can do!)

    Juliana and Stella

    Juliana and Laura

Both are sweet sibsets to me with slightly different feels (Juliana and Laura sound more classic to me - and that gets my vote).

  • I really like Lauren, and I think it sounds nice with Juliana.  I like it better than Estelle and Stella.

  • I don't think you can go wrong with any of those names. All three are great choices. I would have to pick Stella though, as that is my favorite. We almost named DD Stella.
  • I like Lauren, although I think Laura is both prettier and less dated.

Your other choices are fine, but NMS.

  • I like Estella the best. I feel like Lauren is outdated in a boring way.

  • I like all the names but I like Stella the most with Juliana.
  • love them both

Juliana Lauren would be my vote or Lauren Juliana

ill pick juliana by a hair

  • Love Stella, like Lauren, Estelle is nice, just nms.

  • I think Stella goes best w/Juliana.

  • I like Lauren the best of your choices, but I don't think that it fits with the style of Juliana.
  • Lauren - I like for a middle name, but not first name

Estelle - my fave of the 3!

    Stella - ok

  • I think Estelle sounds best with Juliana. It's equally feminine and embellished.

Lauren is a little plain next to Juliana, and Stella is too simple on its own (it's cute as a NN for Estelle in this sibset, though).

  • LOVE Lauren. Timeless classic. In the top 100 but still don't hear it hardly ever.

Estelle- LOVE ! Very rare and I love the meaning. I would like Essie as a nickname.

Stella- Can't stand. Screams stripper wannabe to me (sorry in advance to all).

  • Stella is my favorite of course (see below) also like Lauren a lot, but seems a little dated to me.  Of the three Estelle is my least favorite.  GL!!!

  • i like the name Stella, but for some reason Lauren is standing out to me this time. Maybe cuz it sounds best with Juliana.  Estelle is nms.  Lauren wins this one :)

Lauren - Ordinary.  Now change that "n" to an "l" and you have Laurel, which is pretty damn fabulous.

Estelle - This is one of those old lady names that still hasn't shaken the Ben Gay stink off for me.

Stella - Love. love. LOVE.  Perfection.  But I also adore Tennessee Williams.... somehow I can't get my husband on board with Brick... Stick out tongue

  • I like Lauren... but it seems so blah and common next to Julianna. I think Stella is a better choice. I too, prefer Estella over Estelle. :)
  • I think Lauren and Juliana are best.  Although Lauren is common for our generation, I think it will be less used among our children's generation, so it might be more unique than, say, Stella.

  • I'm assuming you're looking for a name for a second DD and not a middle name?  That's what I thought from your post, but now I'm confused by some of the comments. I like Lauren best, followed by Stella.  My name is Juliana, and my sister is Carolyn.  I also know a Juliana and Stella sibset.  Estelle is too "old" for my taste.

Seriously? You think that Stella makes the dreaded "stripper name" list? Perhaps a gentleman's club starring geriatric dancers. . . .

I'm sorry you don't like my opinion.

<pause> I didn't mean to give the impression that I didn't think you should have your own personal opinion. Rather, I was engaging in discourse regarding name perception, as is the nature of the Board.

  • I love Estelle - in fact, it's probably what this baby's name will be.  Her nickname will be Elle.  You could totally use Stella as a nickname for Estelle, though.  I'm going to disagree with most of the ladies here about the "old lady" vibe it gives off.  I used to think that, but the more I heard it and thought about it, the less I felt that way about it.  It has really grown on me, and I think that within the next few years, it's going to make a comeback (but hopefully, not too big of one!).  Sophie, Lillian and Eleanor used to belong to the exclusively "old lady" club and look at those names now!  I think Estelle is very close to becoming more mainstream again.  Plus, it has a great meaning and with names like Elle, Ella, and Stella being so popular right now, it just seems logical that Estelle and Estella will be soon to follow.  It's hands down, my favorite of your choices.
