Babies: 9 - 12 Months

? about BFing and being away for the weekend

Ok, so I haven't been on here in a while and I mostly lurk when I am. DD turned one a month ago, but I'm too attached to this board to make the switch, so... Here goes!

Dh and I are planning to go away for the weekend at the end of the month and leave DD with her grandparents. She has WM in a sippy during the day, but first thing in the morning and before bed I still BF. I know she will do alright without those nursing sessions while I'm gone, but I was wondering about my supply. Anyone have any experience with this after a year? I haven't pumped in at least 6 months, so that's not really an option. is it something I should worry about? Or just go with it and work with DD to get my supply back up when i get back? Any thoughts or suggestions?

TIA!

  • You can manually express - Its the only thing I can think of at 6 in the morning

If the house ain't burned down and the baby's fed it was a successful day. Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

  • Manual expression or get a cheap manual pump.  From what I've read on other boards your supply should be alright for one day.  The bigger concern is your comfort.

This. I would imagine you would be pretty uncomfortable after missing those feedings. If you don't want to get a hand pump, I think you can rent pumps from hospitals. At least you can from the hospital I delivered in. That could be an option?
