So my son had a Dr. App last friday and on our way home my H and I saw a sushi place, he said baby when was the last time you had sushi? He said he wanted to go. The baby was just fed changed and sleeping in his car seat...I let my tummy make the decision. He was perfectly quiet, asleep and snuggly under his blankets. I felt kind of weird that He was only 1 week old and we dragged him to a sushi place, instead of his first outing being church or his grandparents house it was to all you can eat sushi...kinda makes me laugh now lol, did any of you waste your baby's first outing on an impulse?

Re: First outing at 1 week...sushi?
I don't think that is a waste at all! I think it is good you guys made a spontaneous decision like that when you're already out, I think it will go a long way in making you comfortable taking your LO out.
My DD's first outing besides doctor's appointments was when she was 2 weeks and it was lunch at Macaroni Grill between DH, my sister and BIL. I thought it was great because we had been wanting to go out, but were a little scared and it made me feel good to have my sister and BIL there, knowing they could help.
Besides, sushi is a great way to celebrate an outing especially since we couldn't have any for 9 months!!
Sounds like fun! And definitely not a waste. Our pediatrician told us no restaurants or crowds (especially with lots of children) for 6-8 weeks if possible. Boo. I was so ready to take DD out to dinner so she could sleep through it and my H and I could have a nice meal!
Basically all we've done is go to dr's appts (hers and mine) and go for walks.
Would not consider that a waste at All. In all actuality, that is my plan. As soon as I feel better the sushi joint will certainly be our first stop!!
