I gave DS a new type of yogurt today and he had little red dots on one cheek. Nothing really bad. I am watching them but am wondering if that means he is having some type of mild allergic reaction to it. Is it okay to keep trying it for a few days or should I stop altogether?
Maybe I'm wrong, but... if it's not seeming to bother him, I'd wait for it to clear up, then try it again. If he gets the same rash, your suspicions of an allergy are probably correct!

This is pretty much how I felt but wanted to hear others opinions. Thanks.
I wouldn't give it to him again. I read that even if the first time they have a reaction is mild, that doesn't mean the next time it will be. I would look at the ingredients that he hasn't had yet and not give those to him for a while (ask your pedi how long to wait - I'd say at least a few months, if not longer).
Maybe I'm just hyper sensitive about allergies b/c I have them, but I would err on the side of caution.
DD gets a rash on her face and neck from both pears and apples. When we were at the allergist's office (for a different issue), I asked him about re-trying the foods. He told me that he considers the type of rash that she had to be a mild reaction and that it would be okay to re-try the foods when she's older. He didn't really have an opinion on the exact time when it would be okay to try them. I'm going to wait a few months and see what happens.

This is what we did per our allergist's instructions.
DS got little red dots on his cheeks today after having blueberry applesauce, I was suspicous of the same thing....could be a food allergy. I'm going to stop giving that to him, wait till it clears up and try again to see if that is what it is. (IT doesnt seem to bother him at all)
