I'm definitely out. Sigh. Why would I ever think that something would go right in my life.
Can anyone walk me through the timeline and meds of a FET? How soon do you think I can do it? I am obviously going to talk to my RE and nurse about it, but I'm waiting for them to call back right now.
Re: Talk to me about FET
I'm sorry your fresh cycle didn't work.
A FET depends on the clinic. When I first came on this board I thought a FET included some estrogen patches or pills and took a couple of weeks. That said, I was surprised to learn my FET includes BCP and plenty of injections.
I'll let someone else explain the patch/pill option, since I'm not familiar with it. As for my FET, I've been on BCP for a couple of months (it would have only been one month, had my body not gone all wonky).
My schedule
Lupron 5/1 through 5/25
Delestrogen (IM injection) twice a week, starting 5/14 and continuing through either a BFN or first trimester
PIO (IM) daily, starting six days before my transfer, and continuing through either a BFN or first trimester
I'll also be taking Medrol (steroid) for six days prior to my transfer as well as doxycycline for 10 days prior to my transfer.
Good luck!!

PAIF/SAIF/PGAL welcome
Sorry you think you are out . My RE was willing to let me FET right away, but I had to wait a month because of scheduling difficulties. Honestly, I'm glad I did. I was still cramping from my ovaries going back to their normal size at the end of my fresh cycle and I'm quite convinced that played a role in why my fresh cycle didn't work.
As far as protocol, I started estrace on CD25, was on it for 3 weeks and then did the FET. waaaaaaaaaaaaay less involved
Positive for HLA-B27, I'm a mutant

My clinic's FET protocol is pretty simple.
FET#1: BCPs starting the cycle before FET. Estrace 2 mg twice a day (oral) for 12 days. Then increased estrace to 2 mg 3xday for about a week (lining wasn't quite ready at the suppression check, so I stayed on the higher dose for a few more days). When the lining looked good, started Crinone 5 days before scheduled transfer date. Total meds: BCPs $20, estrace $0.78, Crinone $200
FET#1: we skipped the BCPs and just started the estrace 3 days before CD1. Took it twice a day for 3 weeks, 3 times per day for 7 days. Once lining looked good, I started PIO 5 days before transfer. I spent a grand total of 78 cents on meds for this cycle (PIO was donated).

I'm sorry your fresh cycle didn't work out.
I'm in the middle of my FET cycle now. My protocol is:
Estrace 1 mg 2x a day for 6 days then 2 mg 2x a day for 6 days. Then b/w and u/s. If everthing looks good, I'll do progesterone injections and start doxcycline for a transfer 4 days later.
(My RE was going to let me do Crinone instead of the progesterone, but I requested the PIO. So, this could have been a completely injection free cycle).

Mabel is here! 2/17/13!
I would think you would be able to go straight on to BCP with the start of AF.
For mine, 3 weeks BCPs and then start up twice a week estrogen injections (some clinics do patches or pills instead), about a 7 days after starting the estrogen b/w work to see what your E2 level is and then for me 5 days later was an u/s lining check. If all looks good start PIO injections and then transfer 5 days later.
So from first BCP to transfer it is a little over 5 weeks.
I am sorry about your failed cycle but gl with your FET.

SAIF/PAIF Welcome
Lots of love and luck to my PAIF/3T/IF Veteran ladies, especially my dear friend Zookie. Congrats to Papps, Teach84 and Starbuck on their little ones.
I am sorry about your cycle but I will say that FETS are WAY WAY easier on you than fresh cycles. I had my 1st FET 5 days ago and I feel like a new woman. Seriously..so many less hormones. Im not sure about my outcome yet (betas on Friday) but I would gladly do another cycle of FET over fresh IVF if necessary. Less physically, emotionally, and financially painful. And lots of people have success!
No BC for me. I took provera to bring on period. On day 3 of cycle, I started estradiol pills 3x/day. On day 14, I started progesterone. On day 16, I started Medrol and Cipro. On day 18, I had the transfer.
Easy easy easy.
Good luck!
