Maternity leave - a vacation from co-worker

I'm sure this sounds rude - but I'm looking forward to maternity leave not only because it means I will finally get to meet our new baby and bond with him/her; but I'm also really excited that it means at least 6-8 weeks away from a co-worker. She's extra frustrating/annoying today, and I just needed to share how excited I am that soon I will have a break from her. Maybe I'll get lucky and she'll win the lottery while I'm on leave, and I'll never have to see her again...

  • I totally know where you are coming from. There are several people here who I will be happy to have a vacation from!

  • Nothing wrong with this.  A friend and I joke that the best part of having kids is the maternity leave.

  • Me too!!!!!!!! And I'm not coming back, so its the countdown to the end!!!

Today my coworker told me some horror story from the news about a family's dog attacking and killing their baby. WHY would she tell me that?????

  • I feel the same way and not just about one person. It sucks to come to work and see others take their home frustations out on office equipment (i.e. shoving a printer off the desk and onto the floor).....

  • You aren't the only one! I'm so ready to get away from our office bully. UGH!

  • I felt this way about a pregnant coworker last year. I couldn't wait for her to have her baby and leave. And she didn't come back!

  • Boy do I hear you on that one! This office is very small and as such I only have 1 other person I have to deal with on a regular basis, but he is so annoying that I am SO looking forward to leave.  I have a feeling though that he will be trying to contact me while I am out with annoying questions too!

  • My maternity leave will be a true test for all my employees to step up to the plate and BUCK UP and prove themselves, I'm so sick of picking up the slack,  I wish I had never started picking up the slack 7years ago.
  • This is how I felt when I moved out of state.  I loved my job and I really liked this woman, too, but God love her, she would wear me OUT.  Every single day.  She was in her mid-forties and every day was like trying to instill self confidence into a teenager.  I felt for her, but seriously...I had work to do and it did not involve coddling a grown woman.

  • Ha, I feel the same way about my co-worker. She's also PG (6 weeks ahead of me) and she's driving me BANANAS, talking about her baby shower (that she's planning for some reason) and talking about buying her new home. It's an EVERYDAY thing. I've had enough of her B.S. I'm sick of hearing about how everythings about her. Whenever I mention my baby, she gets all quiet and doesn't say anything. It's super f***ing annoying how baby self-centered she is. It's like she can't stand that I'm PG too. Ugh.

I also feel really bad for my co-workers that pretend to be interested in her non-stop babyshower talk. Enough allready!!
