Only cold-water laundry for a week?

My parents are renting a beach house for a week, it's about 30 mins from my house, so LO and I are going out there for the week. I'm planning on bringing the CDs and doing laundry there, but I just found out the washer there only has cold water. Can I get away with dumping a pot of hot water in there in the wash cycle?I was also thinking I'd use mainly prefolds so that they'd be easier to get clean. Any other suggestions?

The alternative is going to my house to do laundry, but I'd hate to miss out on family time just to sit in my house and wait for laundry to finish.

  • I would dissolve the laundry detergent in hot water (shake in a jar) rather than trying to add hot to the load. Dry in the sun to help disinfect. It will probably be fine.

  • I wouldn't worry about it for one week.  Wash in cold and enjoy your family time!

Oh, good thinking, I'll do that.
