Super Wash Ball. Heard of it? Used it?

So my mother watches QVC and came across the Super Wash Ball.

The tagline of this product is "Drop the detergent. Super Wash Balls get your clothes and fabrics super-clean--no chemical detergent necessary. Super Wash Balls push the dirt out of your fabric and then deodorize to remove any odors. Super Wash Balls do everything your detergent can do, but they last much longer--up to 1100 one-hour washing cycles. All you need to do is dry the Super Wash Balls in the sun once a month to keep them fresh."

She got very excited and ordered me a set (as well as herself) because she remembered I told her we buy certain laundry detergent so we don't ruin the CDs. And she thought these would be great for the diapers.

Now don't get me wrong I'm excited one of my biggest skeptics is actually trying to make my CDing easier but... I'm a little skeptical. Alright I'm really skeptical.

I was wondering if anyone has used them or even heard of them?

I still plan on giving them a try and comparing to my normal wash cycle regardless.

You wouldn't find me caught dead with that. Maybe with regular clothes, but not on my diapers. I would be so afraid with bacteria buildup with all of the fecal matter left, even after rinsing... that's too scary for me.

Ha! My mom watches QVC too and tried to get me to buy one. I am a skeptic too. I'll stick with detergent.

I used to work for a laundry product manufacturer and my company received some of these to try. I didn't find that it worked very well on our clothes, plus I would be nervous about bacteria building up inside it if used on CD's.
