Subchorionic Hematoma & IVF

From the little research I have done (nothing too scientific) it seems there might be a link. Does anyone have any insight on this?

Nothing scientific here either but it seems they happen a lot more often with IVF. I had one...super scary!

My doctor did say it was common in IVF cases. I did not really go into it with her to find out why, but that is what she told me as a reassurance that it would be okay.

My theory on it is because of the egg transfer, that inserting the embryos into the uterus with the catheter could somehow cause a clot.

I really have not looked into it to see if that has some validity to it.

I read in general there tends to be more SCHs diagnosed with IF patients, but the theory is that because IF patients get such careful and close monitoring in the beginning they are found before they would typically resolve.

When my RE found mine, he said it was very common and he saw them in many of his patients.

I did have one with my IVF pregnancy, but I've had two this pregnancy and it was unassisted so I don't know if there is a connection or not. My OB and peri have both said they are very common, but have never mentioned a connection with IVF.

not sure--but i have had two ivf pregnancies and SCH's with each. but my sister's natural pregnancy also had one. so could be genetically predisposed too? unsure. but interesting.

My RE said they are more common in IF patients in general, but not IVF specifically. I had a large one.

I don't know but I had one each pregnancy (one IVF and one unmedicated). I was told that I would probably have one each time and that it was just my "funky" uterus.
