Another question. Micro fleece liner safety.

I know fleece (polyester) is a great stay-dry option for it's hydrophobic properties. However, apparently long-term studies on it's safety for use inside of a baby's diapers are not yet available due to it's relative newness. I was considering cutting up some fleece from a fabric store like so many others. You can't really be sure of it's composition or manufacturing process, though (ie, lead, BPA...). Polyester is one in the same with plastic and research is always producing hot debate over it's safety and links to cancer via slow-released toxins. I don't want to switch from plastic disposables just to put more plastic under DD. Have any CDing mamas found an alternative to fleece that works for them to keep baby drier? I know Bamboo Velour is absorbent, but is it also relatively dry to the touch, or not?

    Suede cloth (Alova or Buttersuede) is another stay dry liner but is again polyester.

    The only natural stay dry liner is raw silk.. I don't know how well it works ether since I have never talked to a mama who actually uses raw silk but I have come across websites saying that it works.

    Bamboo velour is not a stay dry liner as it does feel wet but it is one of those fabrics that is not really uncomfortable when wet. Some people chose this because when babies feel the wetness it can aid in potty training too.

    Honestly, I rarely use liners.  I love my bamboo diapers, bamboo velour, cotton velour, and hemp inserts.  I'm all about natural fibers, and I don't have a stay dry problem - the fabrics absorb so well that even though the fabric is wet, the skin is not.

    If you try not using a liner keep an eye on your babies skin. Some babies don't need it but my baby's skin does not handle the wetness well so I NEED a stay dry liner.

    That's exactly what I was hoping for with the bamboo velour, PP! Thanks for your insight. Can I ask what seller(s) you all recommend? I found a few on Hyena Cart, but still need to do some shopping around. Thanks all!!!
