My cousin just had a RCS in March and is already running 4 miles a day. She claims it is much easier the second time. I was pretty fit (and TRYING to stay active) before both pregnancies, but I remember it took a good 8 weeks before I felt like I could run at all.
Do you think recovery is faster/easier the second time?
Re: RCS-Is recovery easier the second time?
My 1st was easy, my 2nd was even easier. I started working out lightly about 4 weeks after surgery.
I assume your cousin was a runner before and during the pregnancy? If so, I don't think it's that unusual to think she might be back at it a month out. If she wasn't a runner before, I think she might be stretching the truth.

I don't know if recovery is "easier" the second or in my case, third time. All my recoveries were pretty similar. The surgery itself was much easier the 2nd and 3rd times because I knew what to expect.
That being said, I'm not a runner, so I wasn't running after 8 weeks. My OB doesn't allow anything more than walking for at least 8 weeks......
I found the 2nd time was alot easier to recover from. But I didn't take that for granted as I have a toddler to take care of as well.
I find that chasing after a toddler and taking care of a baby is plenty exercise for me. Im not all that concerned about how quickly I bounce back to my pp weight. For me personally it's about my kids and taking care of them. Now that they're here they're my first priority and I come 2nd.
