new to cloth diaper.

where to begin i have almost 3month old he weight is around 12 pd. How many cloth diapers would I need to start of with? Will I need something else with the cloth diapers?what size to begin? also what recommendation of cloth diaper brand will you recommend?

    Check out the FAQs at the top of the board.

    Most of this is subjective.  12 pounds is big enough to start with one size diapers.  You'll want to also get some more inserts, I suggest always having some hemp on hand.  Number of diapers depends on the amount you do laundry, but I suggest about 20. 

    Asking for kinds of cloth diapers is like asking what kind of jeans you like best - it's different for everyone.  Personally, my favorites are bamboo - I really love Kawaii minky bamboo and Rainbow BB bamboo (off ebay).  I have a chunky baby and though my toddler isn't chunky, he is at the top of the growth chart.  I also prefer pockets.  I also like Knicker Nappies and WAHMies.  The selection is endless.

    FIgure out the style and fabrics you prefer, then try out different brands.  Several diaper sites have diaper trials, where you buy a package and send back and get reimbursed for any that you don't like - or all of them.  Check out Jillian's Drawers.

    If I were you I would try a one size pocket like Bumgenius, and then try a sized diaper (all in one or pocket). One size will give you the most for your money. check your area to see if there are any cloth diaper stores that will help you out.
