EDD keeps changing

My doctor can't seem to make up her mind... she said my due date was 9/22 and when I went into the office on Thursday for my monthly check up my due date was listed as 9/25! Not sure if she forgot to change the date or if that IS what she thinks my due date is.... I guess there are bigger problems in this world. but the scheduling lady didn't seemed too thrilled with me! I was thrown off by the date change!

    Can you just count 40 weeks from your last period or 38 weeks from conception or you don't know either of those? My periods are regular so I just counted.

    My doc used my last period date to determine my due date, then the scan revealed the same date. But my second scan said it was two days earlier. I'm still going by the first date though. I read somewhere that later scans are not as accurate in determining due dates after 12 weeks.

     

    By the way, my assistant didn't know she was prego until 6 months! Thus they told her that her due date was May 14 +/- 14 days!!! Can you imagine that big of a window!? A month ago they decided to tell her maybe it wasn't until June 1. The poor girl is going crazy!

    I think this is pretty normal. My midwives said my due date would change as they received more information/test results/scans at each appointment. My DD has changed a ton, but I've always left it as my original 9/21.

    Even if they have your DD exactly right, the chances of you delivering on that day are only 5%, so what's the big deal?

    Yeah that is strange for them to try changing it this late into the game.  My ultrasound put me ahead by a few days and she said she'd rather just keep my LMP anyways since a few days was not enough of a difference to justify a change.  I just go into it with a light heart and tell people I'm due in the first week of September. :)

    Thanks gals! i am just telling people the end of September, if I went by my date of last period it would be 9/21... but the early scans were saying 9/22 but one scan said 9/25... ugh! Like one of you said, it's really only a guesstimate and who really delivers on their actual due date!

    "ours" went from the 30th of September to October 1st.  Big difference when you are looking for a "birth month" club to become part of.  :)

    you ladies are way more entertaining.....soo I've decided to claim September as my home.

    At my first ultrasound they said the baby was measuring about 4 days behind my EDD calculated by my LMP.  They didn't change my due date.  The people at Maternal Fetal Medicine that did my NT scan said that the Dr. was correct in not changing my due date, and that they shouldn't unless there is a 5 day or more difference.
