In my impatient wait to get pregnant, I have been trying to increase my knowledge of cloth diapers.. and decided I can save even more money by sewing them myself. I am pretty good with a sewing machine and found some patterns that seem workable, but I'm torn on which fabrics to use.
I'm looking to make AIO diapers. Probably sized, but maybe try a couple OS later on. Right now, I'm thinking of using a microfleece liner, with a hemp soaker, with a PUL and cotton outer. I've been reading about bamboo a lot too, and people having problems with microfiber stink.
So, I figured I turn to the experts. What are your favorite fabrics in your cloth diapers?
Oh, and what are your thoughts on velcro vs snaps? Velcro seems so much either, but I'd rather put the extra work in with the snaps if it will really last much longer.

Re: Best fabrics?
I have a bamboo obsession. I also like hemp as a doubler. I despise microfiber now after dealing with stink issues for a while!
I'm slowly destashing everything MF and trading in for bamboo - and all of my doublers are hemp.
I agree with the others - bamboo and hemp. I love bamboo velour inners.
Snaps all the way. When we first started CDing I preferred velcro, but I quickly learned that it's a pain and wears out so much faster. I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to get a perfect fit with snaps, but that has never been a problem at all.
