Hello, I'm sakelp. I'm new here, and wanted to introduce myself. I have not really lurked here, but I am an active poster on the nest. I am 26 and have been married for almost 2 years. We have 2 dogs and no children. 

We are not planning on trying to have any Biological children, and we are interested in the options of both international adoption, as well as adopting from inside the US.

I would like to start hanging out over here in hopes of learning more about the adoption process. Feel free to ask me anything you would like to know!

    hi! welcome!! this is a great group!

       I'm Melissa, i'm 32 and we're in the process of adopting a little boy from Korea :-) we were matched with him back in august and are just waiting to be submitted for a visa to be able to bring him home! it is KILLING me though because he'll be 18 months old in like 2 weeks and we're still not sure when he'll be home (we're hoping by the time he is 2, but not sure)

       we picked the korea program because the health care the kids get there is excellent. also, the kids are with families in foster homes, not sitting in an orphange- we just felt like that is better for the overall adjustment and everything.

      BUT the korean goverment has been changing some of the laws, etc... so its taking WAAAY longer than it used to to process visas. we NEVER expected to be waiting this long to bring him home. So... all that to say that if you are thinking about the Korea program, I would seriously think about that if you lookinto the korea program. its been the hardest thing to watch my son grow up in pictures :-(

    Welcome to the board!  Definitely read the FAQs in the section at the top of the board and lurk, these are both great ways to learn!  And of course, feel free to ask questions about anything. :)
