Contractions worse on one side?

So for the past 2 days I've been having contractions that are tighter on my right side (where LO isn't) than they are on my left.  At first they were just relatively normal BH, but last night before bed they started being accompanied by cramping pains very low that last almost the whole contraction. (woke me up multiple times)

Right now they're about 5-7 min apart, but I notice that my belly is still contracting a bit tighter on my right side.  Does this sound like just another type of BH?  I've tried different positions, and am in the midst of a 2nd bottle of water, but they are still going.  Don't want to get my hopes up if the one side thing means they aren't "real" contractions.

Re: Contractions worse on one side?

  • I don't know if one side has anything to do with more real or not, my bh hurt worse where lo isn't it's like the muscles can contract more there.  But I also have painful timeable bh. The only way to know if it's the real thing is to see if they slow down and get less painful or pick up in time and pain. Good luck

  • TY.   They backed off about an hour ago, and now I'm back to painless but tight BH.  So frustrating, but hopefully the painful ones at least made some progress for me.  Dr.'s appt Monday!

  • I had sharp pains on my left side this time during contractions. She came out kind of sideways (really painful! they had to turn and pull as she was coming out) so i am not sure if that was part of the reason for stronger pain on one side!
