we love our BG4.0s but lately they have been leaking and this is why. there is a little gap in the thigh .. we just can't get a good fit. we can't tighten the snaps on the waist or she wouldn't be able to breathe ... any suggestions?
Are you trying to snap both snaps on each side into the same row of snaps? Did that question even make sense? Haha. Sometimes we have to snap the top snap further over than the bottom snap or something like that to get a good fit.

Yep, we have to be really careful not to create gaps when double stuffing at night, too. Such a pain when that happens. Do you have any bigger pockets that can handle more stuffing at night without gapping?
You could try stuffing with hemp, which is trimmer and more absorbant;this should makefor less gaping.
and/or
You could try adding a fleece or wool soaker over the BG. Fleece is pretty inexpensive, if you know how to sew a bit, they are pretty easy, if not, places like etsy have them pretty inexpensively. Alternatively, upcycled wool is a fairly thrifty option.
I'll start by saying I love our 4.0s. We had leak issues over night and I tried all different stuffing options. Nothing worked until I put a wool soaker over the BG diaper with one regular insert, on occasion I'll add the newborn doubler when he downs a cup of milk before bed. We get 0 leaks with the this set up.

A couple things:
