antibiotics ?

Hi Everyone!

We have been CDing for about a week and LOVE it!  I have a question though - I know we can't use regular butt paste on LO because it can mess up the absorbency of the diaper - but what about if he is on antibiotics.  Can the antibiotics in his poop do anything bad to the diaper (he is on amoxicillin)?  Also - if it stains it, is that something that sun bleaching will take out of the fabric?

    I've never had problems with antibiotics ruining a diaper...UNLESS your LO gets a yeast rash.  That was the worst.  We had to switch to sposies for a couple of weeks until we cleared it up with nystatin.  Sun bleaching works for pretty much any stain!

    I don't think antibiotics themselves will mess with the diapers. I swear by children's probiotics whenever dd has been on antibiotics (she was on heavy duty iv antibiotics at 6 weeks for a resistant uti strain...horrible horrible diaper rash). The diarrhea might stain but that should sun out and it will kill some yeast.
