Re: How Much Do You Spend? (Poll)

  • Diapers: It's looking like about $20/week but we have decided to cough up the one time fee of $300 for GlowBug cloth diapers so in a few weeks it will just be laundry detergent

Wipes: I don't know, we stockpiled a bunch of club size boxes when I was pregnant.  Love the Huggies ones, Pampers ones suck and are so dry.

Formula: n/a.  I do have 4 tins of Similac I got for free in the mail just in case though.

Breastfeeding supplies: nothing so far.  I've been EBF so I don't require any equipment.  I do have a Medela Swing pump and received some Avent reusable BM storage containers at my shower but i''m really not even thinking about pumping yet.

Clothes: something else we got a ton of before he was born via gifts, or things we bought on sale.   think we are set for clothes until he hits 6 months.

Diapers: $25-ish (Walmarts Brand--they fit him best)

    Wipes: $8 (Pampers)

    Formula: Nada

Breastfeeding Supplies: Nada (Though, I did buy bras and tops awhile back)

Clothes: We have $40 allocated but haven't had to spend it with buying so much early on/gifts.

Diapers: $0. We went cloth. Out initial stash that should get us through until she's about 20lbs cost $200. That's less than about $20/month though.

Wipes: $0. since we have cloth dipes, we use cloth wipes. We use a bunch of the cheapo baby washcloths we were given as shower gifts. (How many baby washcloths do you REALLY need??)

    Formula: $0

Breastfeeding supplies: $0 so far. I was gifted some storage bags, gel soothies, and disposable breast pads. My mom also got me my pump. I will be buying some Avent storage containers for freezing milk though. I think they're easier for taking to daycare.

Clothes: $0 for now. We are totally set for 0-3 month clothes, so I can't really justify buying anything. We don't have nearly as much 3-6 and up. If I find good deal, I may buy bigger stuff for her, but I can't see spending more than $40/month at this point.

  • Diapers- n/a we use cloth, we've spent maybe 400 (probably less) to diaper DD1 and now DD2 is using the same diapers

Wipes- $10 Lansinoh BFing wipes (they have lanolin in them and no alcohol so they work on our babies sensitive bottoms)

    Formula- n/a we are EBFing

BFing Supplies- $5? if you average it out for storage bags/nursing pads

Clothes- $10 maybe since we had a DD1 and they are mostly the same season

Clothes: $20 on our boy and girl coming home outfits, $10 on 5 sleeper gowns, everything else us hand me downs from my nephew or gifts from the shower

Diapers: we are cloth diapering. We have spent about $400 total and it should last us until she is potty trained. We chose to go with pocket diapers and our stash is made up of Fuzzibunz, BumGenius, Rumparooz and Kawaii.

Wipes: we are using cloth wipes and I make the solution to spray them with. I'd estimate we've spent $20 on this.

    Formula: $0- we are BFing

Breastfeeding supplies: about $10 for breast pads. Insurance covered the Medela PISA in full and we got the bottles as shower gifts.

Clothes: about $200 for breast feeding tanks, bras, pajamas and a hands-free pumping bra.
