Violet was born on Tuesday night, 4/24 and just getting around to writing this. Violet is my 2nd, so I expected this labor to go a little quicker, but not as close as it was. I started getting minor contractions Tues am, day before EDD. Thought nothing of it since they weren't consistent or too strong. Then around 12pm, started to feel things get a little more intense. By 2pm, I called my husband to come home since my 2 year old was going to be up from her nap soon and I feared being able to keep up with her while in any pain. He got home around 3:30/4pm and my contractions were full on. I went upstairs to get my stuff together and I could barely move. My water broke on the steps around 4:30pm and we managed to get into the car to the hospital at 5pm. Got to the hospital close to 6pm, was already 8.5 cm dialated! So no time for an epi, ahhhhh! Got into delivery, convinced them that I definitely needed an iv immediately for some sort of pain management. Started pushing soon after and she was born at 7:09pm. Recovery has been so much easier without the epi, even though it was extremely painful.
