"so I'm cleaning, you lay on the couch and relax."
This is what DH said to me last night. My parents are coming into town this weekend, I have my last baby shower, and my doctor is out of town this weekend (we like her better than the other OB in the practice but they're both really good). Because of this DH is convinced I need to take it super easy. I'm okay with this.
I didn't feel the need to correct him that when its time there's nothing we can do about it. And I have a clean downstairs out of it!
Now if only he wouldn't ask me if I was in labor every time I grunted or moved in a weird way that causes pain, or had any kind of pain for that matter.
Re: "cleaning could set off labor"
My DH does the same thing, when I get up to go to the bathroom which is a million times a day he says are you okay are you in labor.
Now I wish he would say lay down while I clean but dont think that will ever happen.

I'm cleaning today because I HOPE it'll do something to send me into labor. (Well, that and my house is a bit of a disorganized mess and it needs to be cleaned).
I also keep hoping that feeling the need to clean = nesting = labor, but I doubt it.
It's a lie! I dusted and vacuumed yesterday and still have my baby inside. The pineapple eggplant kung pao I made at the stir fry bar also didn't do it. Nor did sex. Nor did walking. I am convinced now that the only thing that will do it is if I drive somewhere totally inconvenient to change my clothes, and then my water will break. Like, I need to go to a movie theater in the next county or lay on a couch in an antique store or something.
Congrats on your clean downstairs.
I can just imagine the look on the store owner's face...
