formula closest to breast milk

so my daughter has been EBF since birth and I had a freezer supply that we have gone through already and i'm going to have to rebuild. I'm a server so my shifts vary in length and I only have 4 oz of BM for tonight, so I'm going to purchase formula just incase my shift is longer...i really don't want to have to but I don't want her to starve! so my question is which formula is closest to BM with some of the same benefits. TIA!!

    I honestly don't think there is an answer to this. The basic formulas are all pretty much the same (I am not talking about soy, etc).

    All baisc formula is the same and follows the same government guidelines.  Nothing will give you the same benefits as BM.  I would ask your pedi for some help, but realize they may push whatever brand is marketed to them.  The cheaper, generic brands are just as good as the expensive name brands.  I researched formula before I decided to BF long term and we were going to use the Target brand.

    I would suggest trying a gentle formula though.  The regular milk formulas are harder to digest and we found out when I stopped pumping for dd that she had a hard time switching to the regular formula.  She does fine on the gentle.

    I'd definitely go with a gentle formula. I had horrible milk supply issues when DD2 was a month old and had to eventually switch to formula and we went with Enfamil Gentlease, but the store brands really are just as good. She's now on Enfamil AR but thats because she has GERD
