hello: I make my homemade detergent out of the following...it lasts me for about 5 months and costs me a grand total of 12.00 to make
6 bars ivory soap, grated finely
6 cups of borax
6 cups of washing powder
I have recently read that borax is really REALLY bad for baby skin and I am wondering what you all have found (if there is anything safer to use that is effective with cloth diapers)
Re: homemade laundry detergent
I was told to try borax as a water softener when I couldn't find Calgon in stores. Still not having much luck with microfiber around here but I've not seen any problems with LO's skin. But his skin isn't very sensitive.
Another friend told me about making detergent. Where would I find washing soda?
