City Mini double users- GT and regular

I recently saw a City Mini GT double with a belly bar and on top of that she had her car seat--no adaptor.  I was wondering if anyone else has tried this with their regular City Mini double.

Wondering if maybe the GT belly bar is stronger than the regular belly bar or are they the same?
