C-sections

Saggy Belly..anyone else?

I noticed at the end of my pregnancy the heavier the little one got and he dropped my lower stomach was already starting to sag.  So I knew i'd be in for a long road with a saggy lower stomach.  He ended up being too big for me to have vaginally  (9lbs 4oz and I labored at 1cm for 12 hours) so I had a c-section.  My stomach looks like it's sliding down my body.  My incision is under my saggy lower belly pooch.  Am I the only one who ended up with this?  If i'm not what have you done to help the healing process?  I have a stomach binder which I love because it gives me so much more support, but I feel like it pushes the saggy part even futher down.  It has totally taken me off guard because I had a flat stomach before I got pregnant.  Will this eventually tighten back up and look better?

  • You're only a few days out so give your body some time. Remember it took 9 months for your belly to stretch out. That being said, I was heavy when I started my pregnancies so I already had a saggy belly and I doubt that will change any time soon.

  • You are not alone in this, and it takes a while to get back to normal.  I still have just a little bit of overhang.

  • I am almost 6 weeks out and have little to no sagging left, however my belly definitely isnt as firm as it used to be.  Everyone is different and everything comes with time and it gets better.

  • DS was 11lbs 4oz, so I still have a saggy belly. I think it is just excess skin.  I have been running regularly, doing ab workouts and trying to eat healthy. I have seen improvement, and have definition back on the side, but the front is still super saggy.  I have a horrible time finding pants that fit because of the extra skin.  I'm hoping I continue to see improvement, as a pp said, it took 9 months to get that way, so it will take time to go back.

  • I am 7w6d PP & I still feel like I have a little extra "sag" or loose skin, I don't know what exactly it is but I do know I am 10lbs less then my pre-pregnancy weight but my clothes still don't fit the same:/ I know it will take time, but it still bugs me.

  • My first LO was 10lbs, I had another baby less than 13 months later, and I have no sagginess left. It was really bad at that point though!

    Give it time.

  • My first was over 10 lbs and I have a super short torso and the sag never went away. I've heard people refer to it as the "mother's purse", but it is fairly common after a c-section. Sorry, no positive story here. I have a huge complex about it and will be getting a tummy tuck when I am done having kids.

I have this and I feel disgusting with the sag and the stretch marks. I didn't start out thin but at least my pre-baby belly was firm. I hope to have a tummy tuck as well!
