And it's a... GIRL! We're elated.

We had a little party at our house last Saturday, and my Mom was visiting that weekend which was really special to have a family member around to share such exciting news with. While it was near torture to wait a week after our ultrasound apt. until the party, it was also absolutely the right thing for us to do it the way we did. That massive anatomy scan appointment is a bit anxiety provoking and so we were glad to not find out in that moment. But that's just what felt right for us.

I was SO excited to find out and my hand would not stop shaking as we cut the cake!

I love this dress! And while it is a maternity dress, and works perfectly while pregnant, it could totally work all the rest of the non-pregnant time.

Oh please do! I know it shows a much more real side of who we are than just a few random comments on this website could, and so perhaps thats a bit strange to show those I don't know, but the video is on youtube anyhow... anyone can see it that wishes I suppose.

I know. People thought we did that to add suspense... but no, we certainly did not. Every time I watch the video I sort of laugh in annoyance at the moment I thought I would know... and then it wasn't until almost a minute later (which felt like for ever) that I actually knew.

Ok, I'm trying to figure out what to do and a friends suggested the cake when i first announced I was pregnant. do you just give the envelope to the baker so they know what icing color to use?

I didn't want to assume anything so I gave the sealed envelope to the baker and told her to make the inside icing pink if it said girl, and blue if it said boy. Some people request the icing be pink/blue, some have the cake made pink/blue. And I requested it be very light either way so that we wouldn't know immediately upon pulling out the knives. We wanted to pull out the piece of cake to know. But that's just me being picky. With that said, it was so light you can't really tell the color that well on the video.
