YUCK! Mouse droppings!

I can't believe this. We moved out of our old place. We had left some of the baby gear that I borrowed from my friend in the garage.

When my husband went to empty the garage he found a dead mouse/ rat and droppings. Now I am totally grossed out and I don't want to use any of the stuff. We read that it can all be sanitized/ disinfected and  can be safe to use, but I can't get the picture of the viruses that are on the stuff.

I am going to have DH clean and sanitize her stuff and we will give it back to her :/ 

This sucks!

    There are no droppings on the items (just to clarify) and they will be sanitized according to the CDC's recommendations before I give them back to her. And I will tell her what happened. There is no risk in using the items after following their recommendations, so I am not giving her poop covered stuff...

    If it was not possible to clean them, I would reimburse her for the items. Or if she is uncomfortable getting them back I will buy the replacement fabric.

    Most of the stuff we were not going to use anyways, she voluntarily brought a bunch of gear to our place and we were only going to use the baby swing. Unfortunately, the items were all in the garage where the mouse came in.

    This. But I also wouldn't give it back to your friend. If you don't want it, do you think  she would want mouse poop covered baby stuff?

    I would definitely tell her and see what she wants to do w/ it...
