Just wanted to tell you I saw your post on 0-3 and we are dealing with the same problem. My girl has reflux and it comes out of her nose at times and she arches her back and struggles to catch her breath. Very scary!! My son is a gassy boy, mostly happy but can be testy at times. We use Dr brown's and I like them very much. My daughter was switched to Nutrimagen and she's on Zantec (although) seems to not work great. We are going on Prevacid soon (she just had a hernia surgery yesterday. Our pedi is referring her into a GI specialist also. The Nutramagen seems to be a lot easier on her belly. Her poops are good now (she's not as blocked up). May ask about switching my son to that too for his gassy cramps... Also, found a heating pad that helps them move gas or seem more settled and add gas drops to their formula 3 times in a 24 hour period. You can also heat a towel in the laundry and wrap the gassy ones belly to hopefully help out!
Re: Taylorandmel
Hey! You found us over here. We had our 2 month check last week and we talked to the doctor about all of this. She thought Gabriel's symptoms could be a form of reflux, especially from when he started arching his back and "fighting" during feedings literally pushing the bottle away.
He started on zantac which seemed to help, but he still had such terrible gas that he was passing gas and then waking himself up and screaming. So called back and she said he could switch to similac sensitive even tho she REALLY wanted him on neosure for at least 3 months.
He's had these 2 things for the past 3-4 nights and we do see an improvement. So, we'll hold off on new bottles for now. We still use simethicone when needed also. Isabella is still having the same spitting up fits. It's sad and scary. She will not be going into her own room anytime soon. She is smaller than him, so for now we will keep her on the neosure. However, when she gets to 3 months we're thinking she will switch to similac sensitive for fussiness and gas like Gabriel, or the Similac Sensitive for spit up.
We will try the warm blankets with him. She doesn't seem to get a sore tummy. She seems A-okay and then has her spit up "fit" (for lack of better word). It gives me anxiety every time she does it.
How are you doing? I hope your husband is helping more. We know how much work two babies are, and I can't begin to imagine doing it on my own.
