XP: Really?

Today marks 8dp5dt and my garbage can is full of negative HPT's. I am feeling major heartache. I keep asking asking myself, when will this nightmare be over? I emailed my RE and asked him, if tomorrow's first beta is indeed negative as I suspect it will be...do I have to come back for the second on Monday? His answer was yes. Really? Sounds more like torture than confirming another major disappointment come true. Sorry for the negative rant.

Finally some (tough) answers.

1st ultrasound 10/1: TWO beautiful heartbeats!  Overjoyed!

    Ugh!  So sorry, I don't know why they do that to us.  I could see if they opted to test you early, bringing you in again just to make sure.  But at 9dp5dt, if b/w doesn't pick up, why bother?  ((hugs))  So sorry lady Sad

    IVF#1 - 1 blast = BFP!! (12/30), EDD 9/9/12, confirmed c/p 4w2d
    FET#1 3/2/12 - 2 blasts =BFP!! EDD 11/18/12, us#1 = twins! Confirmed m/c 5w6d
    4/20-surprise BFP and another c/p 4w2d

    DOR (FSH 24.3)/ terrible egg quality ; homozygous MTHFR c677t
    5 IUI's: 2/11 to 6/11 and 1/12= BFN
    OE IVF#1-4 8/11-6/12= all BFN
    DE IVF#1 11/12 bad embryos= BFN
    DE IVF #2 2/13 BFP/Beta hell: m/c 5w6d
    CFNBC 7 months, not doing well; decided on guarantee program at RBA w/frozen DE
    DE IVF #3 1/14  ET 4BB; BFP;M/C 5w1d, incomplete m/c; MVA extraction in ER 7w1d

    DE FET#1 ET 3/1714; BFP, beta 1 3/27= 197, beta 2 3/31= 1586, beta 3 4/7= 13879!!
    First u/s= Twins with HBs at 6w2d! We are Team Pink x 2!!

    I'm sorry.  I am going through the same thing.  Just got my first beta in today:  less than 2 which they even said is negative yet they still want me to return on Monday to do beta 2.  I also feel like what's the point and why prolong the torture?

    2nd ectopic resulted in loss of tube. HSG revealed remaining tube is "severely torqued".
    IVF #1: ER 03/29/10; ET 04/01/10: transferred 2 embies; Beta #1 (9dp3dt)- 45; Beta #2 (11dp3dt)- 91= BFP
    FET#1: ET 04/18/12: transferred 4 embies; Beta #1: >2 = BFN
    IVF #2: ER 06/20/12; ET 6/25/12: transferred 2 embies; Beta #1 on 7/5/12= BFN
    8/16: hysteroscopy for polyp removal
    11/11: hysteroscopy #2 for yet another polyp removal
    FET#2: ET 12/15/12: transferred 3 embies; Beta #1 (9dp5dt): 12/24/12: 426; Beta #2 (11dp5dt): 845= BFP
    u/s 1/9= triplets!; miscarried all three on 1/10/13...

    I am sorry about your beta result and I am more sorry that you have to go back for a torture treatment aka second beta. It just prolongs the pain, but soon enough it will be a new day for both of us. Many hugs.
