Thanks, Sookie, for bringing this up... It reminded me that my Mom gave this talk to me while we were at the community pool, I must have been about 6 or 7.. Literally went like this, "The boy sticks his penis in the girl's vagina." Boom. That was it, and i was traumatized (until i was 18, that is...). Did you get the talk? Was it "Birds and bees" or point blank?
Re: S/O the sex talk...
I never got any talks.
When I was in high school my dad said something about "If I bastard our name, he'd be PISSED"
....that's about it.
Same here and still isn't!...I plan to be the exact opposite with my kids though.
I honestly can't remember. I do know my parents consented to sex education in school (I'm pretty sure it was 5th grade - and I know for sure it was elementery school).
I know she talked about it, but, I don't remember having one specific enlightening "talk"

She didn't want to look at us when she explained it. The only thing I did afterwards was go "Mom you have 4 kids ..." and she replied "I know I had to do it 4 times to get you guys."
Always Sunny's back b-tches!
When I was 18 and my bf broke up with me (OMG it was the end of the world obviously) and I was crying in my room, my mom came in and asked, "Did you have sex with him?" and I nodded and she walked out of the room.
We have a fairly comprehensive sex-ed class in schools here though so I knew all about birds and bees and had actually been on the pill by then for 3 years, so yeah. Go mom!

My mom sat me and my older brother down at the same time and read a book with us about it. Talk about AWKWARD!!! I was mortified that she was showing me a book with pics in front of my brother. Needless to say, it only happened that one evening and I didn't retain a whole lot. My mom was someone who you could not talk about things like that with.
I will always be grateful to my sophomore PE teacher. My parents never let me or my brothers participate in sex ed in school (they were extreme religious). They thought that sex ed shouldn't teach about bc and abstinence was the only thing they should talk about. My PE teacher pulled me aside before that class and asked me if I would like to stay and participate. He said that he thought it was my right to choose if I wished to stay for the class or not. He was fine either way with my decision. I opted to stay. It was the only way I ever learned about a woman's and man's bodies and how they worked.
Looking back, if my parents ever found out, my PE teacher could have gotten fired for letting me participate. I respect his courage allowing me to have that choice. I was 16 years old for fricks sake!!
