Ok, I may be a bit behind on this particular era, but I just finished book one of the trilogy. I found it extremely enjoyable and am aways into the second book. Anyway, they are now going to be turning the book into a major motion picture... I have a feeling that I'm going to be sorely dissappointed in that movie. Anyway, what are y'all's opinions on the book?? What do you think about the impending movie??
Re: 50 Shades of Grey....
You have to take the book at face value. It is an erotic fiction novel, so keep that in mind. However, I've enjoyed the story line very much.
I have read all of the books, and while I enjoyed book 1, it made me really uncomfortable in parts. I know the books are based on Twilight fanfiction so it made it really hard not to picture Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.
Edited to add, everytime I picked up my kindle to read, dh would ask me if I was still reading my "sex book".
One thing I did love about the trilogy, is that you learn quite a bit about Christian and also his past.
The only thing I hope for the movie, is that they stay away from casting Disney or ABC Family kids, and really go with someone with more of an edge like Kristen Stewart or Rooney Mara. I also hope they don't water it down to a pg-13, and actually make it a rated R or NC17.
I read a story about this online - no clue where - and it actually seemed to be a better idea for them to turn this into a longer running cable show, than a major motion picture. I mean, how much better was the show Sex and the City when it was on HBO compared to when the movies came out. Although, the premise didn't come from a series of books.
I too would go to the Hustler and pick up a copy.
I downloaded it last night and am a third of the way through the first one. It's funny b/c I know a few other ladies who also just downloaded it yesterday and we all are saying we can't put it down. At almost 2am I figured I better since the kids would be getting up soon...lol. I am really enjoying it.
I have read that Ian Somerhalder is interested in playing the role of Christian and I think he would be a good fit. I had no idea it was related to Twilight. Yuck. I like Twilight, but I am tired of hearing about it. I love the idea of it being a series on HBO or wherever.
Go Phils!!
I can't remember where I read it, but when I googled for reviews on the books, I came across several places where it stated that she was Twilight fanfiction writer, who happened to get noticed. I guess her fanfic SN is even public.
I would love to see Channing Tatum as Christian. Ian Somerhalder would be good too.
I just googled him, and he is sexy!!! He could def play the part
I kept picturing Christian Bale's character in American Psycho as I was reading it. He would be good, too, but I think he is a bit old. To be honest, I wish that Christian Grey was older than late 20's. I think I am the only female in the world who finds Channing Tatum unattractive.
Who do you guys think would be a good fit to be Ana? I cannot come up with anyone.
Go Phils!!
You know as I was reading, I was thinking that Christian reminded me a lot of Edward at the beginning of Twilight. I actually only saw the 1st two Twilight movies and didn't read any of the books, so I am the last person who should be talking Twilight.
Go Phils!!
I've heard that too, and I've also read that they're considering Shailene Woodley, although I think she would be awful.
It's funny b/c she is someone who came to my mind to play the role. I read more last night and am not really into all of the sex parts (I know, I know). I am much more interested in Christian's backstory. What's up with that guy? Hmm.
