So we go on May 8th and I'm SOOOO tempted to have it put in an evelope that I can open on Mother's Day. How should I get Daddy on board with that?
After we find out, whenever it is, I don't just want to call people and say, "We're having a ---" or post that on Facebook. This was an unplanned pregnancy and I had come to terms with the fact that I was ok with not having kids, when I found out I was pregnant. Now I am and the 12 weeks or sickness are gone, (Thank GOD!) and I just want to start getting happy and excited about it! I was afraid to be a mom, but now I am one and I want to be great at it!
So Ladies, any ideas would be great. I want to start making this special, because I'm 99.9% positive this isn't happening again.
Re: Ideas on how to reveal the Sex?
You want to surprise yourself & your husband with the sex? Or you would know the sex and you want to announce it in a different/cute way to everyone?
There are a ton of sex revel ideas out there, opening a box filled with either pink or blue balloons, eating a cake/cupcake with the filling pink or blue, taking a picture of your husbands shoes, your shoes and pink/blue booties next to it.
A few girls on my local board joked about getting ice cream and letting the girl at the counter know if it was a girl/boy and she'd give them ice cream with either a cherry (girl) on top or nuts (boy).
There are poems out there if you google for them - ton and tons of ideas.
That is pretty funny!
Oh my gosh. I love the cherry/nuts idea. HA!
I doubt we will do a reveal party for our next, but we will still totally find out in a similar way with the envelope and around loved ones rather than at the appointment.
We had a grandmother that was not doing well and we were considering having her tell us (so she would feel special and be first to know, knowing she wouldn't likely meet the baby). She didn't make it. But that's a sweet idea we thought. Or perhaps that's too emotional for some. I dunno.
I had friends have their daughter tell them what they were having. They gave her the envelope after the appointment when they picked her up (she is like 8) and she was supposed to wait until that evening and she just SO quietly opened it in the back of the car, they had no idea, and she squealed GIRL! They said they were totally caught off guard but that it was so sweet how excited she was with her big responsibility. I thought that was adorable.
If you have a pet you could drop off the pet and the envelope with the groomer and pick up the puppy with like a pink or blue bandana on to tell you. Ha. I dunno. Really, anything.
