my mom the cloth diapers I had bought. She couldn't get over how cute they are. She was so skeptical when I told her about CD at first, but as soon as I showed her the diapers she was amazed.
That is how all of my older relatives are/were. I tell them that we are cloth diapering and then they watch me change a diaper and they're shocked at what they actually are. They all still have the image of pins and plastic pants.

This is our family, too. I think people are being as supportive as they can while still secretly insisting I'll switch after a few weeks.
Hurray! My Eastern European grandmother was the same way. On one of our weekend visits, she asked about the diapers ("wait, you don't use paper diapers?").
She was so impressed that when her friends came over for dinner, she pulled them into the baby's room to show them the diapers and started bragging about how great they were for baby and how smart I was. And what were their grand-daughter's doing for their LOs?
Awesome! A guy friend of ours who is staying with us for a few days reacted pretty much the same way. I got some CD's in the mail and he was in the kitchen while I opened them. I then told him we are going to cloth diaper and he thought that was really cool. So I took him to the baby's room and showed him the variety of diapers and he was so impressed. He was like "Wow, these diapers look really cool!" haha
It isn't it fun when people who were skeptical are amazed!
My LO's great grandma was almost appalled that we were going to CD. We were over the other day and she commented how cute her diaper cover was. I laughed and told her it was just her diaper. You could tell she was surprised.

CDs as bragging rights? Well, I'll take it.
