Cloth Diapering

Craigslist diapers, quick advice needed

I'm expecting my first in November and want to cloth diaper. I prefer the all-in-ones and want to start when he/she is a newborn. I found this listing on Craigslist and the poster confirmed these were all-in-one's, is this a really good deal? Should I offer lower? If so, is $35 just insulting, or fair?

Re: Craigslist diapers, quick advice needed

  • It really depends on the condition of the diapers. Is there staining? How is the condition of the aplix, elastic and PUL? Recently I have bought some used diapers. Here is what I learned - if the price seems too good to be true - it is. And it isn't worth it to me to buy diapers that aren't in excellent condition. I prefer buying seconds or on B1G1 specials.

  • That makes a lot of sense. Thanks a lot! I emailed her back with those questions

  • And provided the applix and elastic are in decent order (which you can check) $50 is a decent price for them.  If it were me, I wouldn't take $15 lower on an ad I just placed the day before. Maybe $5, but $5 each, provided they are in decent condition, is already a good price IMO.

  • Thanks! I'm waiting to hear back about the condition of the diapers, and if it's good, I'll probably just pounce on them.
