We've done a total of 3 IUI cycles with injectables - #1 was BFP with no cyst (which resulted in m/c at 8 wks), #2 was a chemical pg with some pretty decent cysts, and had IUI #3 last weekend and now have some major cysts (still have another week to find out result).
My question is, RE wants to meet prior to cycling again (if this is another BFN of course) and I'm wondering what he's going to say. Our issue is only MFI. Does anyone have experience with cysts post stimming for IUIs? Any guesses to what he might recommend going forward? (I'm guessing I'll at least have to take a month or 2 off due to the size and number of cysts, but I'm wondering what future treatments plans might be).
TIA for any advice!!
Re: NE1 w/ cysts post stim for IUI?
Different things they can do...Sometimes they put you on birth control pills for a while to see if they clear up on their own. If they don't, and depending on their size an persistence, they can aspirate (drain them) in office, or remove them surgically through laparoscopy/hysteroscopy. If you move on to injectables, they may want to get rid of yours before going forward. Sometimes the stims meds can cause the cysts to grow faster and/or burst. There is just no way to predict what the doc will say without knowing what you have going on in there...I mean, are they going away between IUIs and they only coming back during stims? Have they found out if they are active or not?
I had a cyst pop up during each stims for both my IUIs and we just pressed forward and now I have a very stubborn cyst that has been there since November and I'm having it aspirated so I can go on with my IVF cycle.
I really suck at staying pregnant
