My undercarriage is ruined.
I made the horrible decision of looking at the damage and now I want to carve out my eyes while going back in time to the moment right before I made that horrible decision.
1. Apparently I have a tear that my midwife neglected to tell me about. I'm not sure I'll ever enjoy sex again. How, in God's name, can a clit tear!?
2. I believe I may be allergic to the pads I was using because it literally looks like I have diaper rash/a bed sore or something of the type.
Someone erase my memory.
Anyone else stupid enough to take a peek?
Re: Oh my God...I never should have looked.
I didn't look (too scared!) but I WAS allergic to the d*mn always infinity pads that I started PP with. I had to switch to something else.
Just tell yourself that it didn't happen - you saw nothing. And never look again!!
I haven't delivered yet, but I already regret busting out the mirror and looking. I think I tore the hood of my clit while I was washing down there because apparently the skin is like paper now. I have dark skin and blister/rash stuff on my inner thighs and in the crease where my thighs and body come together, from everything getting sweaty and rubbing when I walk. I have a small tear on my perineum from sex last night, so I KNOW this kid is going to rip me a new one. Plus everything is still puffy and swollen from pregzilla hormones. Then there are the apparent stretch marks on my labia, which I didn't even know was a thing that could happen.
If mine looks this bad and I still have an inside baby, you must have been peeking at a nightmare. I'm sorry you had to see that. I'd offer you some brain bleach, but if I find any I am totally using it to unsee my own snatch.
Emerson Kate born 4/6/12, 5 lbs. 13 oz. 18 3/4 inches.
Happily expecting Baby Mac #2 around 4/13/14
I actually Googled it right before I looked (which enhanced my curiosty because, as it was merely an illustration, it didn't appear THAT bad...wrong). DH looked over and saw the illustration and said "Is that what you have!?!?! Oh...my god baby, I am SO sorry...so, so sorry."
Don't look it up. Even the illustration is frightening.
And I always wondered if sex would fck up my nether regions in the weeks before labor....not knowing is what had me super gluing my panties on. I'm so sorry you're dealing with that already..
I also got a chemical burn from Always pads.
I used Kotex this time around and didn't have any reaction.

no. the MW who came to visit me the day I was discharged said.. "you don't wanna look." I have, briefly, but not totally spread eagle. not enough to see the tears (when he said, while stitching, "not sure how this all goes together - I can't figure out how tab A goes into slot
with my brief look, I could have sworn I saw an extra...lip...
I was thinking I should have asked my OB to even out my labia for me while he was down there.lol
i have a swamp butt rash from always pads and 90 degree temps. not fun.
i looked at about 1 week pp and i could totally believe that a baby came out of there. it was pretty frightening. my perineum is maybe 1/2 inch long (stitches didn't hold after my oldest ripped me in half) and there were odd bulges of flesh poking out of my vag that i couldn't identify. also frightening.
Same here. I wouldn't wish that most recent LIP on my worst enemey!
Fast healing to everyone!!!
Ugh, this is why I do NOT want to look...I told one of the nurses in the hospital that I had a morbid curiosity and was thinking about looking and she just said, "No, don't." I will take her word, thank you.
I hope you feel better soon
Dont worry ladies. Things will go back to semi normal! lol..I promise.
I'm sorry you saw what you saw! It does heal!
I looked and I was very happy to see that I actually look much better than I did when I was pregnant. The pressure from the baby made me soooo swollen! This birth I didn't tear and very surprised within a week my lady bits were almost 100% back to normal. My butt on the other hand was horribly bad.....
Me too -- I did google but nothing came up.
I looked at about one week out and was shocked that it looked pretty normal and I have stitches for a 2nd degree tear and internal stitches for a top non-urethra (thank god!) tear. I couldn't even tell where my stitches were. Apparently I need to thank my OB for her good work!!
ETA: Also, add me to the list for the allergic to Always Infinity. Burned and itched after only an hour. No problem with the Always Ultra.
Oh my goodness! Bless your heart... Why in the WORLD would she not tell you that was torn...? : (
I'll probably poke around with a mirror about a week or so after I deliver... I have this thing for scarring myself for life.
from what I can see of my inner labia when using the bathroom, they look shorter and daintier (lol). I hope it's not just an optical illusion due to swelling of the surrounding area!
