How long do you let LO stay in the bath and play?

Re: bathtime

  • Pretty much until she gets bored and/or whiny. Usually around 15 minutes or so is how long it takes her to get annoyed. But since it is usually right before bed, she is tired to begin with.

  • Between 15-30 minutes depending on how he is doing.  Some nights we don't get a bath in until he is really sleepy and the he only lasts 15.  Other nights we have to end it at 30 minutes because he is a little prune!

  • I agree with swimiz--about 15 minutes.

On a sidenote: Did you end up doing WW? How's it going?

This. Some times it is 5 minutes. Sometimes longer.

  • I must be in the minority...about 5 minutes, maybe 10.  DS is a wild lunatic in the bath, I constantly am trying to keep him sitting up, not crawling and face diving into the water.

  • DS has mild eczema and its recommended to limit bathtime to less than 7 minutes. Together with bathing less often, keeping baths short, and immediately putting lotion on him after the bath, it has kept his skin from drying out too badly.

We don't have standing since I bathe her in the kitchen.. But he splashes like crazy!!! I get soaked so bath time has become shorter.. We might have to move to the tub again. Let her have some fun. :)

Same with us.  We try to limit it.  Which sucks b/c she loves it.  She is not a splasher, just sits and looks at her puffer books, haha.  And sucks on the washcloth.  When she was littler and was not calming down, we used to plop her in the tub - instant soother.
