Strep B Test

Has anyone had their strep b test yet? If so, what should the rest of us expect? Is it similar to a pap or is more like a swab? Painful or not ect...

Don't worry, it's just a little swab they do. It didn't hurt me in the least.

It's just a quick swab, you don't even feel it. Some OBs will do around the anus too, so be aware that might happen.

Mine does is at 36 weeks and also checks for dilation since she's down there anyways.

Mine is next appt (36 weeks), but I asked the nurse if it was like a pap and she said it's much easier than that. Just a quick swab from vag to butt and all done. I'm not too worried about it

mine is on monday. but I hear its just the swab. I hope my doc checks for dialation since hes there in the firt place. getting nervous cause he hasnt even checked position of baby yet eek

Like PPs said, its just a quick swab. And if the test comes back positive, they just prescribe you antibiotics to take care of it. Really easy and not stressful at all.
