Well it finally happened

I am still distended from the OHSS and someone mistook it for pregnancy. I went back to work yesterday knowing that I needed the distraction. Big mistake.

No one at school (I teach first grade) knows I'm going through with fertility treatments. I guess after being out "sick" and coming back with a swollen belly they mistakingly put two and two together.

One teacher was elected to ask. She pulled me aside after school and said "everyone's been talking- do you have something you want to tell us?" I played dumb and she said "you're pregnant, right?" I said "No, why, do I look fat?" that shut her up.

 So many things are going through my head. First- when is this f*ing OHSS going to go away? Then- why would anyone feel they have the right to question someone in regards to pregnancy? If I was pregnant, wouldn't I wait until an appropriate time to share the news? What if it was a high risk pregnancy? What if I had a history of m/c.

Sorry I'm rambling.   And I'm already stressing about how to hide my swollen belly tomorrow. I could be excited or at least optimistic about the 2 embies inside me and instead I'm all worked up about this. IF sucks!

dx: MFI 0% morph & low count. Occasional Anovulatory cycles.

    Im so sorry this happened. Sometimes people just dont have a filter. Especially in schools (I was a teacher too). At least you put them in their place.

    Is your OHSS getting any better?

    DX: Unexplained/??? MFI issues

    Our lil' lost sparks:
    5w3d loss 7/30/10 - EDD March 2011
    8w loss 4/15/11 - EDD November 2011
    8w3d loss 8/2/12 - EDD March 2013
    4w c/p loss 10/29/12 - EDD July 2013

    Long story: trying on our own + testing testing testing with 6 rounds of Clomid, more testing, injectables + TI, laparoscopy - one tube blocked, 2 IUIs with Follistim...BFNs.
    RPL testing all normal, Karyotyping normal

    Moving on to IVF.

    IVF #1 April 2012 = BFN, IVF #2 June 2012 = BFP. U/S 7/23 = saw heartbeat but measuring behind. Follow up U/S on 7/30 - no heartbeat. D&C 8/2. Trisomy 12. IVF #3 Oct 2012 = Chemical Pregnancy

    Phone consult with CCRM on 12/12/12 - ODWU 1/4/13 - both tubes clear(!) - AFC 24, AMH 3.2, FSH 9.6, LH 5.4, E2 25. DH has high frag rate but improved!
    IVF #4 March 2013 CCRM. EP protocol w/ Menopur, Gonal-F & Dexamethasone. ER 3/29 & IMSI, PICSI. 43R 13M 10F 6blasts bio'd. CCS testing reveals 3 normals!!!
    FET 5/31/13 of 1 4AA blast - thawed and expanded. 4dp5dt BFP.
    Beta 9dp5dt = 181, 11dp5dt = 427. 1st u/s showed a healthy heartbeat! EDD 2/16/14

    After 4 years of hoping and heartbreak, our sweet little bean was born on 2/19/14
    We are so in love with her.

    That just stinks. I teach 1st grade too and my colleagues are the noisiest people I know. When I was out for my ER one of my coworkers asked another if I was pregnant. Stay strong and good for you with the quick response!

    jeez louise...pp amaze me sometimes.

    ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
    Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

    DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

    Sorry you had to deal with this!  I'm a teacher too and it is so hard to be out - there are always questions even though it's no one's business.  Hope you are feeling better soon!

    Ugh, I still have some mild OHSS bloating and this is my fear. Sounds like you handled it as perfectly as possible! I hope you feel better soon. (((HUGS)))
    After 5 TI Clomid cycles, 5 IUIs, and 2 IVFs we finally got our BFP!
    Beta#1 (12dp3dt)= 353, Beta#2 (15dp3dt)= 1466, Beta#3 (22dp3dt)= 14,139, First u/s: TWINS!!
    After 10 weeks of bedrest, our two little ladies joined us at 28w6d

    That was me a year ago! I also teach first grade and had OHSS. I was out for a few days because I couldn't drive or walk! I'm worried it will happen again when I go for ivf #2. My OHSS lasted a couple of weeks but my belly stayed since it turned into pregnancy bloat then a twin pregnancy belly. Oh and the questions stuck around for a while too. People are so inconsiderate. Good luck. I hope everyone leaves you alone. It sounds like you have some good comebacks:)

    People continue to amaze me at what they will just flat out ask! I'm so sorry you had to deal with that crap, and I think you handled yourself well. I hope she learned her lesson.

    I'm so sorry this happened to you, I actually had the same exact thing happen yesterday, only with a neighbor who came up and rubbed my swollen stomach and said "congrats on being pregnant what are you three months pregnant??" nope not pregnant, just bloated from all the fertility drugs I'm taking but thanks for pouring salt in my wound. Hopefully soon you will be pregnant and you can announce it your own way instead of ppl making assumptions!
    TTC 6 years three m/c during that time 5/11 Ruptured Ectopic - Lost left tube and a normal baby boy 2/12 IVF #1 BFN - Very poor egg quality... :( 5/12 IVF #2 Hoping for the best! Est ET 5/11-5/18 BFN Decided to move on to adoption to complete our family!
