Cloth Diapering

bought some flip organic prefolds today -

I'm planning on boiling them (per FAQ suggestion), then throwing them in the wash for a cycle.  I know since it's a natural fabric I need to prep them separately.  Will all the natural oils be out after boiling them?  Do they still need that last hot wash/cold rinse/dry cycle separately, or can I just throw them into the dirty diaper load I'm planning on doing later?

The lady at my store said she prepped her organic prefolds by just throwing them into the dirty diaper load 5 or 6 times, but I don't want the oils to get on the other dipes.

  • I read that you can boil them then wash them once by themselves on Hot with detergent and you are good to go.   I actually just washed some of mine with my towels & other laundry, but I didn't need them right away so I could afford to take a week to get them completely washed.  I did boil a few and they turned out fine.  Just remember to change out the water between boils.
