Babies on the Brain

What do you think ladies?

I finally finished my niece's blanket. Little Taryn isn't due until August so I know they probably won't get to use it right away. I made it big enough that hopefully Taryn will be able to use it when she gets older as a regular blanket too. The colors are black, white, and hot pink. Now I'm torn between giving my brother and sil the blanket now or wait til the baby shower in June. Also I'd like to wash it before giving it to them just to make sure its ready for use, but I'm a little afraid the colors might run, any suggestions? Sorry no clue why its sideways..and huge.image

Re: What do you think ladies?

  • I would definitely wash it first and then wait until the shower to give it to her.  I say wash it on a cold cycle with one of those color catcher things to make sure you don't have any issues with the colors bleeding.  GL!

This is what I was going to say, but I keep getting error messages when I try to reply. Stupid bump.

    The blanket is beautiful!

  • It is lovely.  I did the same thing for my friend for her 4th baby...made it larger so it could "grow" with her and I washed it before I gave it to her.  I just did it on a cold water cycle.

As far as giving it to them now vs. waiting.  I'm always WAY too excited to give people stuff and I have a really tough time waiting, so I couldn't hold out until June.

  • Thanks guys for the compliments and suggestions on how to wash! :) I worked really hard on it. I hope SIL and Taryn love it as much you do.

GORGEOUS! And I would definitely wash first to ENSURE that the colors don't bleed. Your SIL will likely wash, anyway, and you don't want it bleeding with her stuff. And I know it's hard, but hold off and give at the shower. It's one of those gifts everyone will love gushing over.

So meanwhile. I'm due November... we should be friends. Wink I'm just sayin....

Definitely agree, and that blanket is truly lovely! It will be cherished for a long time. :)
