If you normally have a short cycle...? P4 question

My cycles are normally about 24 or 26 days long with a 12ish day LP.

When I was on oral prometrium (progesterone) I would start to spot around 10dpo and then get AF on 13dpo. People always swore up and down on these boards that you couldn't get your period on progesterone but I did, every time.

I've never taken endometrin (vag-gy style) before - so if things don't work out this cycle - should I expect to spot? or start A?F or have to stop taking them before that it starts?

I'm not asking for ute glasses Geeked but just wondering if anyone had any experience.

Any insight or thoughts from IFVs or PGIFs or IFers would be fantastic.

For 2 of my IUIs I took Prometrium vag-gy style. lol Both times I started spotting the day of my beta so when I got the negative results I didn't take anymore and got my period the next day.

ETA: My cycle is normally 28 days with a 12 or 13 day LP.

Hey thanks! Maybe I just have a vicious uterus. I think I'm supposed to do my beta and then stop taking things if it isn't good news. Maybe my lady parts will cooperate and wait.

I can only give you my "what happens with a chemical pregnancy" perspective.

With IVF #1 and Crinone, beta #1 was 49 and #2 was 57, #3 was in the 20s. Stopped the Crinone, bleeding commenced a the next day.

With FET #1 and Crinone, beta #1 was 100 and #2 was 300. Started bleeding two days later, while still on Crinone.

I bled through crinone after IVF#2. I started bleeding 4 days before my beta. You can absolutely bleed through P4. I was concerned about it (ie should I have been in PIO since I thought I must not be getting enough P4 with the crinone) but she said if the embie didn't stick, crinone won't always keep AF away.

It's a tough one between some ladies are actually PG and are just having some bleeding from a SCH etc and assume it is a period, meaning they are not pg and stop the drugs. I was bleeding so heavily that there was no way the crinone would have even stayed in there so I just stopped on my own against med orders...

Thanks for answering. With my first PG I had a "full period" before my BFP, so I know it happens. I think I've got a wonky ute and P4 has been my issue before as well.

Prior to treatment, I always had shorter cycles with several days of spotting before my real AF came. With prometrium (vaginally) during my IUI cycles, I didn't spot before my period. I usually started a full flow a few days after stopping prometrium. With my first IVF, I did Endometrin 3x/day. I think I started spotting about 5 days after ET and started full flow on the morning of my negative beta at 12dp5dt. At my WTF, I requested to be put on PIO for my next cycle, as we think I had absorption issues on Endometrin. Although, I've heard many women say Endometrin causes bleeding/cervical irritation, so don't count yourself out if you do see a bit of spotting. GL!

Prior to my IF treatments my cycle was ALWAYS 28 days. After starting treatments they now vary from 24-32 days. I also notice I bleed much more heavily I have to use the ULTRA tampons that are made for elephants and still have leakage. I don't know if it's from the progesterone support or because I'm 40.

I don't have any experience with endometrium. With this IVF I'm using crinone. My RE's like it much better than the PIO injections. I asked because some women swear by it and others prefer the crinone vs the daily injections.

I swear I posted this earlier but didn't see it so I'm posting it again. I hope you still have a few awesome gifts to give out for me.

I have short cycles as well- most around 24-25 days. Without prometrium (I've only done the vaggy ones) I start spotting on 11-12dpo and flow by 13dpo. While I'm on prometrium, typically it holds it off til I stop and then takes a day or two to come. There was one cycle where I started bleeding through it on 12dpo.
